Health Services

Visiting the Health Room

Our Health Room is located just inside the school's front entrance, beside the Attendance Office. For non-emergency health care during class times, you may visit the Health Room only if you obtain a pass from your teacher. Naturally, you may come to the Health Room directly (i.e. without getting a pass) whenever there's a health emergency, or whenever you require first aid. If the nurse is not in the Health Room when you arrive, ask one of the Attendance Office secretaries to help you.

Taking a Medicine at School

To take any medicine at school, students need both a parent's and a doctor's signature on a request. Your doctor's note must identify the medication and state the dosage. The nurse will keep your medicine locked up in the Health Room until you need it.

What If I Have Special Health Needs ?

Our nurse is Ms. Manuele Mayer. It is very important for you and your parent to share with Ms. Mayer any First aid kitinformation which she might need to know about your health, so that she can see that you receive the proper kind of care during the school day. Generally, Ms. Adams receives a health history for every student who comes to K.J.H. from one of the Northshore Schools. However, if you are entering K.J.H. from a different School District, it is very important that you give Ms. Adams a thorough health history. Our Nurse is available every day to help you with your personal health questions and concerns.
